The 170th movie that superstar Rajinikanth will star in is called Vettaiyan, Lyca Productions said on Tuesday. The director of the Tamil film, which was revealed in March, is none other than TJ Gnanavel, best known for Jai Bhim.

Along with Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Ritika Singh, Manju Warrier, and Dushara Vijayan, Vettaiyan is marketed as an entertainer with a message.
Anirudh Ravichander has been signed on to write the soundtrack for the film, which Subaskaran will produce. One of Rajinikanth’s next movies is an untitled project he is working on alongside Lokesh Kanagaraj and Lal Salaam, his daughter. The actor most recently starred in Nelson Dilipkumar’s film Jailer. After its August release, the movie became a box office hit.
