The Boogeyman (2023) Trailer Review – Cinegenics

20th Century Studios unveiled the first trailer for “The Boogeyman,” a new horror film, on January 30, 2023. The movie just gained a theatrical release after 20th Century Studios had requested it for Hulu.

Originally written short tale The first appearance of The Boogeyman was in a Cavalier magazine issue from 1973. He converses with a patient who claims that a ghost is after them. The desperate man tells the psychiatric patient. He tells that the boogeyman cursed his family and targeted his children one by one.

The father is confident he has uncovered enough proof to prove the existence of the boogeyman, despite the fact that kids can choke to death in the middle of the night and that every child’s death can be attributed to natural causes. Until the psychiatrist becomes a fresh target for the unsettling entity, the psychiatrist finally rejects the man’s narrative as a fiction.

The Boogeyman is not a straight copy of King’s original tale, as the new trailer makes clear. Instead, the film follows the two daughters of the doctor and functions as a sort of sequel. The adolescent stars of The Boogeyman, played by Sophie Thatcher (Yellowjackets) and Vivien Lyra Blair (Bird Box), are still processing their own loss at the beginning of the film. The girls will unfortunately have to battle for their life when their father invites the boogeyman to their house.

While the notion of a monster hiding in closets might seem silly, King transformed it into a terrifying tale in 1973. The most recent teaser for the movie adaptation of King’s The Boogeyman suggests that it will be the scariest King adaptation yet.

Chris Messina, David Dastmalchian, Marin Ireland, and Madison Hu are the stars. Malignant’s Mark Heyman, Scott Beck, Bryan Woods, and Akela Cooper wrote the script. Shawn Levy, Dan Levine, and Dan Cohen of 21 Laps are the producers of The Boogeyman. While Scott Beck, Bryan Woods, and Emily Morris are the executive producers.

One of numerous King adaptations scheduled for publication in 2023 and beyond is The Boogeyman. A prequel to 2019’s Pet Sematary and a new version of the author’s vampire classic Salem’s Lot are in development.

On June 2, The Boogeyman will be released in cinemas. Here’s the Trailer of the movie:
