Night Swim Trailer Review
No jogging. Don’t dive. A lifeguard is not present. You may not swim after dark.
In the backyard pool of their new home, a family in Night Swim awakens a menacing ghostly force. The movie debuts on January 5, 2024, in theaters.
Below, you can see the official Night Swim trailer, which is plenty of suspense and manages to keep any and all spoilers under wraps. Let’s hope the intrigue endures throughout the following year.
Ray Waller, a former major league baseball player forced into early retirement by a degenerative illness, moves into a new home with his worried wife Eve (Oscar nominee Kerry Condon, The Banshees of Inisherin), teenage daughter Izzy (Amélie Hoeferle, this fall’s The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes), and you. Waller is portrayed in the film by The Falcon and the Winter Soldier actor Wyatt Russell.
Ray convinces Eve that the new house’s sparkling backyard swimming pool will be entertaining for the kids and provide physical treatment for him, in an effort to secretly hope against all chances that he will be able to return to professional baseball. However, a sinister power unleashed by a hidden past in the house will drag the family down into unfathomable terror.
In addition to James Wan, the director of Saw, Insidious, and The Conjuring, and Jason Blum, the producer of Halloween movies The Black Phone and The Invisible Man, Night Swim is written and directed by Bryce McGuire (who also wrote the upcoming movie Baghead). Ryan Turek of Blum’s Blumhouse and Michael Clear and Judson Scott of Wan’s Atomic Monster are the executive producers of the movie.
