King of Kotha Review: A Failed Gangster Movie

With his latest films, Dulquer Salmaan has become a PAN India sensation. He is currently bringing out the gangster action movie King Of Kotha. Important parts are played by Dancing Rose Shabeer, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Prasanna, Nyla Usha, Anika Surendran, and Chemban Vinod in the Abhilash Joshiy-directed film. Let’s see what the film looks like once it was released today.

King of Kotha Review

In Kotha town, Khanna Bhai, also known as Dancing Rose Shabeer, is a drug kingpin. Despite his best efforts, C.I. Shahul Haasan (Prasanna) is unable to bring an end to the drug mafia in the area. Shahul finds out that Khanna Bhai is Raju’s close friend and that Kotha was formerly ruled by Raju (Dulquer Salmaan) a few years ago. However, for a variety of circumstances, Khanna Bhai and Raju part ways. Why did they part ways? At that point, what did C.I. Shahul Haasan do? This is partially the main plot point.

Dulquer Salmaan Raju

From beginning to end, Dulquer Salmaan is without a doubt the star of the show. The adaptable actor plays Raju with effortless ease and gives the role life. His position as someone who wants to destroy the drug cartel is well-designed. Additionally, the actor does well in the action scenes.

Swaying Rose, also known as Shabeer Kallarakkal, played a criminal quite convincingly. He is given a substantial role and plays it well. Chemban Vinod made a good number of people chuckle with his humorous English diction. In this movie, Jakes Bejoy’s background soundtrack turns out to be a godsend.

About King of Kotha

To begin with, this isn’t the kind of narrative one would anticipate from a Dulquer Salmaan movie. It is a typical gangster drama, and the movie follows a similar plot. Despite Dulquer and Dancing Rose’s best efforts, the film’s effect is greatly diminished by its unimpressive narrative.

The story moves slowly for the most part, and finishing the movie will test your patience. There were some long moments that could have been shortened, therefore the editing staff performed a bad job. The movie is also incredibly predictable, and the climax is drawn out needlessly.

Every character is somewhat unimportant, save for Dulquer, Dancing Rose, and Chemban Vinod. Although a great deal of work went into making the movie, the screenplay still needed more attention to detail.

Dulquer Salmaan

Although Shaan Rahman and Jakes Bejoy wrote some mediocre tracks, Jakes Bejoy wrote an incredibly amazing background soundtrack. The film is set against a historical backdrop, and the art direction crew did a fantastic job of bringing the past to life. The cinematography of Nimish Ravi is superb. It’s a good production value. As has already observed, the editing is subpar.

Regarding the film’s director, Abhilash Joishy, he performed a subpar job. He ought to have worked some magic with the narrative because the story is so ordinary, but alas, that didn’t happen in this instance. The lengthy runtime could have been avoided if the director had paid attention to it. If the screenplay is weak, a movie cannot be saved by its actors alone.

King of Kotha Final Thoughts

King of Kotha is an uninteresting and drawn-out mobster drama overall. As usual, Dulquer Salmaan excels, and Dancing Rose provides him with helpful encouragement. However, the plodding storyline and the unremarkable plot severely hurt the movie. King of Kotha is therefore a letdown to see this weekend.
