Evil Dead Rise (2023) Trailer Review – Cinegenics

On April 21, 2023, the movie Evil Dead Rise, directed by Lee Cronin (The Hole in the Ground), will be released exclusively in theatres. The official trailer was released today as promised.

You can view the official Evil Dead Rise trailer below. Which is reminiscent of Fede Alvarez’s excellent 2013 Evil Dead adaptation. In contrast to Sam Raimi’s horror-comedy techniques from Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness. It appears that the tone of Evil Dead Rise is one of gory dread. With the movie aiming to be the scariest in the series to yet.

Alongside Alyssa Sutherland and Lily Sullivan, Gabrielle Echols (Reminiscence). Also, Morgan Davies (The End), and Nell Fisher (Splendid Isolation) will appear in the new film.

“In the fifth instalment of the Evil Dead series, a weary Beth makes a long delayed visit to her elder sister Ellie, who is responsible for raising three children alone in a small L.A. apartment. When a mysterious book found deep inside Ellie’s building summons flesh-eating monsters, Beth must engage in the most terrifying kind of parenting possible in a primitive struggle for survival.

Evil Dead Rise is a project by producers Sam Raimi, Bruce Campbell, and Robert Tapert. Campbell claims that the three have been “extremely active” in the project from the beginning to the end.

Campbell, though, won’t play Ash Williams in the movie. Instead, this movie will be a brand-new film with brand-new actors and a brand-new plot.
