Chhatriwali (2023) Trailer Review – Cinegenics

Actress Rakul‘s new movie Chhatriwali character defies all obstacles, customs, societal mores and social boundaries on her own. The Tejas Deoskar-directed movie also features Rajesh Tailang, Riva Arora, Satish Kaushik, Dolly Ahluwalia, and Sumeet Vyas.

On January 6, the Chhatriwali trailer was unveiled. Rakul plays a dedicated sex education teacher in the movie who goes to great measures to dispel societal taboos over the topic. The teaser also implies that Rakul’s persona is working to inform people about the value of contraception and safe sex. Her spouse, played by Sumeet Vyas, does not support the use of condoms. He says, “Raincoat pehenke baarish mein bheegne ka kya mazaa,” in the trailer.

In a statement about the movie, Rakul stated, “I hope this character inspires people to find their voice and speak out against unsafe sex and the numerous health consequences of not using protection. I’m glad that Chhatriwali offers progressive and fun entertainment for everyone, especially the young people who make up the majority of the population in India and who need to be educated about safe sex and sex education.

The uneasy silence around sex between Indian parents and children, husbands and spouses. According to co-star Sumeet, Chatriwali also causes a rift between teachers and pupils. Because there is always an air of “hush-hush” surrounding such matters. Youth today are curious in the concepts of intimacy and sex.

The premiere of the film Chhatriwali is scheduled on January 20, 2023 on ZEE5.
